With the IPL coming up soon, The Kolkata Knight Riders Owners decided the team needed a new look to go with their new motto “New Dawn, New Knights”. After being unable to win the trophy in the past four years since the inception of the IPL, Team Owners Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla unanimously decided it was time the teams look and spirit needed to be revamped in order to give the extra boost and raise the spirits of the team and hopefully win this year’s cycle of the IPL.
The new look was unveiled by the two stars at Mumbai yesterday (the 13th of February 2012) along with the CEO of KKR Venky Mysore, Jay Mehta.
Discussing the changes in the design and logo, team owner Shah Rukh said that the he and the other team owners had decided to keep the golden color but change the black since it seemed to be unlucky, especially since the team couldn’t make it even to the last four last year.
Further into the discussion Bollywood’s Badshah revealed that Juhi had actually wanted the colors to be gold and pink, further stating that he would agree to change the color to pink if the team did lose again this year but imagining Yusuf Pathan in a pink dress would be funny.
When talking about the IPL, Shahrukh Khan said that he truly believed that the future of IPL was fantastic with an entertaining property, an exclusive club with enough passion in the people involved and that he hoped and prayed that the IPL would extend to other sports as well like football, hockey, badminton and shooting, stating that the only way to survive was to have a competition like the IPL under a central controlling body.
Apart from Shahrukh Khan and Juhi Chawla, some players from Kolkata Knight Riders, like Yusuf Pathan, were also spotted at the event.
