Zen is a Japanese word or pronunciation of the Chinese word Chán, which in turn is derived from the Sanskrit word dhyāna( ध्यान), which can be approximately translated as "absorption" or "meditative state".
In this Sesshin, ‘The Broken Buddha Foundation’ will be offering programs with the complete focus on meditation through several Zen and Yogic methods and techniques that are highly effective and help you experience your true state of being.
Meditation, in its truest meaning, is just to be, not doing anything – no action, no thought, no emotion. Simply relaxing into your own being. In this state, you just are and it is a sheer delight.
When all the doings of the mind disappear, mind itself disappears. And the disappearance of the mind is called Satori.
In this Sesshin, you are also most likely to experience Satori, a state of no thought - which is your own natural state, delve into Suchness and be absorbed by that which is… Or you will be at least be given with ample number of techniques and methods which you could use eventually over a period of time to experience this state.
The program is intended to share techniques and methods to help you put your mind aside - mind means ambition, the ego trip of being this and that, career growth etc. The moment you have put this whole mind aside, you are sure to experience a great light that explodes in you. In this light, one again returns to the market place to continue with whatever one was doing earlier.
This state of being, we are talking about, is so mysterious; it is so beautiful that all words fall short to convey the experience. No poetry can reach to its level; no music can describe the intensity. But Remember, This is your own natural state.
You cannot think about it, because all thinking is of the mind…. you can only experience it because experience is of the being.
“Drink your tea slowly and reverently, as if it is the axis on which the world earth revolves – slowly, evenly, without rushing toward the future.”

The Chittaranjan Palace, built for Mysore's princesses, has been lovingly restored as a charming hotel. In extensive gardens, with formal lawns and shaded pergolas, and fringed by majestic trees, the hotel is an oasis of calm.
