The Asian Lenses Forum
Started by the Founder and Chairman of NIIT, TALF aims to be an outward looking coalition of committed thought leaders, opinion makers and informed youth. As a platform it seeks to generate relevant knowledge and encourage multiple dialogues, engaging stakeholders across generations and nationalities. Its eventual aim is to prepare the younger Asian generation to find their place in this rapidly changing global environment.
It aims at providing them with a deeper understanding of what it means to be Asian; an understanding that stems from awareness of themselves, their surroundings and their histories. The project is embedded in the NIIT University in Neemrana, Rajasthan and is currently based out of Gurgaon.
The Asian Lenses Forum was launched in February 2014. The event featured a unique new-age classroom the video to which you would find here. Award winning journalist Pallavi Aiyer, Member of the Planning Commission and Former India Chairman of the Boston Consulting Group, Mr. Arun Maira and Former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delhi, Prof. Deepak Nayyar spoke at the event. Dr. Jean Pierre Lehmann, Emeritus Professor at the IMD Laussane and TALF Senior Advisor anchored this discussion. In Professor Lehmann's words, an initiative such as this is the need of the hour for it 'studies Asia through Asian eyes'. This discussion raised the topics of concern of both the need for Asians to know other Asians and to know themselves.
