About The Event

Emerge is not just a festival. It’s a platform featuring music & art shows all-year-round, across cities and day long festivals. Emerge brings fresh music for hungry fans of exciting new experiences. It opens minds, shakes up the soul, unlocks creativity and unleashes the power of new within you.

Emerge is all fun and mostly madness.

2013 -15’ saw EMERGE host an array of fresh and seasoned acts from across the globe- Jeremy Loops (SA), Dinner and a Suit (USA), ENGINE-EARZ (UK) featuring Asa (UK), Foreign Beggars (UK), DJ Dismantle (UK), Go Go Berlin (GER), The Virginmarys (UK) and more recently, These Reigning Days (UK) who enthralled music fiends in major Indian cities.

These shows culminated in the Emerge festival on 28th February 2015 in Bangalore.

6K screaming fans witnessed a phenomenal day of fun and frolic in the original stomping ground for alternative music.  On the bill was Grammy-Award nominated Alt- J, BRIT Award Winners Rudimental (DJ set), and virtuoso hang-drum player Daniel Waples featuring The Petebox& Bangalore’s rock-outfit Parvaaz.

On popular demand, Emerge is back with Alt-J in India.

Alt-J missed playing in NCR in March because of the bad weather on the day they were slated to play. That is why they are coming back for their fans in NCR to rock you. And we at Emerge Festival are more than ready to make Alt-J and your wish come true.

This is all yours NCR!

Artist Information:

British band Alt-J, who nabbed the No. 1 position in the UK with their latest album 'This is All Yours,' (which also has a Grammy nomination for 'Best Alternative Music Album') are coming to India for the very first time! The band's debut album An Awesome Wave, was released in 2012 and won the 2012 British Mercury Prize. There is a process we all go through when we first play the new album by a band whose debut we evangelized about. Nerves need to be steadied and fears dispelled before we can pass anything approaching calm and clear-headed judgment. With luck, our ardour will be rekindled, our faith reaffirmed. And all of us will, at some time or another, have had the unhappy experience of dashed hopes and shattered illusions, so there's that niggling worry lurking at the back of our minds, too. Which brings us to This Is All Yours. More specifically, to the opening bars of the opening song, Intro. Joe's voice starts the track, a pointillist, percussive ''la-la-la-la'', Philip Glass-like in its hypnotic simplicity, before Gus joins in with an answering counterpoint. This is not, as its title might imply, a brief throwaway before the album proper begins. Its middle section, introduced by Thom's thundering snare pattern, suddenly asserts itself before the song returns to its becalmed opening theme, only to be once again overwhelmed, by a brutal burst of martial drumming and battle cries.
