Vasota Fort is situated in dense forests surrounded by river. It is also known as Vyaghragad. It’s believed that a disciple of Vasishtha, a sage by the name Agasti, came to reside on a mountain on the banks of river Koyana. He named the mountain after his mentor. Later the mountain was fortified and converted into a military station. This fort is so remote that rarely there used to be any military action here hence it was used as resting place for army which has returned from the war during Maratha era.
This trek is counted as one of the best treks in Sahyadri. Being situated in the Koyna WLS, it offers amazing surprizes for wildlife lovers. The trek through the dense forest makes you forget the distance you cover.

Day 1:
See you at Fergusson College Main gate at 10:00pm Sharp
We now travel non stop to Bamnoli. We should reach bamnoli by 3:00am
Take a nap till dawn at the base village.
Day 2:
After Breakfast, Travel in the boat to the base of the fort.
Start trek, have packed lunch at the top.
Descend, travel back to Bamnoli in Boats. Start return Journey.
Back to Pune by 8:30pm

06:00am - Wake up call. Freshen up, and have breakfast.
08:00am - Complete procedure o enter Wildlife Sanctuary and get a boat allotted through the forest office.
10:00am - Start the trek after the 1 hour boat ride..
12:30pm - Reach the top and have packed lunch.
01:30pm - Start descend and then the 1 hour boat ride. You will initially feel like jumping in the water, but as the sun sets, it gets cold!
05:30pm - have tea and snacks at Bamnoli and start return journey.
10:00pm - We are back to Pune.
