This Bootcamp is a 4-day engagement over 2 consecutive weekends (17th, 18th June and 24th & 25th June) where you will be introduced to:

 

  • Design Thinking, i.e looking at problems from the Human perspective

  • You will learn Research Techniques to deeply understand the people whose problem you are trying to solve.

  • You will also be introduced to all the Tools & Methods needed to come up with concepts for the solution and build those concepts into tangible elements
  • Test the usability of those elements with the people for whom you are building that solution.

Day 1 - Introduction to Design 

 

  • What is design? How to perceive design of everyday things around us
  • The advent of design in digital media
  • Design thinking and Human - Centered approach
  • Paradigm shift in the software industry
  • Overview of the design process

 

Hands-on activity: 
Pick any object/software application commonly used by you and explain how it was designed. Redesign it if you feel it’s not good enough.

 

Day 2 - User Research 

 

  • Introduction to User research: Qualitative and Quantitative methods
  • Planning user research- asking the right question to the right audience
  • Contextual Inquiry
  • Experience Journey Mapping
  • Data driven design
  • Analysis and Design Opportunities

 

Hands-on activity: 
Plan and execute user-research for your problem statement (in a team) using all of these methods.

 

Day 3 - Sketching, Wireframing and Prototyping

 

Hands on activites on:

 

  • User task flow
  • Storyboard sketching 
  • Low fidelity wireframe on pencil & paper or on software
  • High fidelity wireframe (includes dummy data) on software like Sketch
  • Prototyping on desktop tools or online tools
  • Prototype Testing 
  • Iteration based on feedback from prototype testing
  • Final User Testing

 

Day 4

 

  • Presentation & Demo in front of Senior Design mentors from Quikr, MakeMyTrip, Roposo and TravelTriangle
