Urooj-E-Kashmir (Rise of Kashmir) is a six-day program bringing crafts, culture, cuisine, and commerce of Jammu & Kashmir right next to India Gate, New Delhi. The program from 20 - 25 December 2019, envisages promoting peace, prosperity and a new perspective for Jammu and Kashmir through a cultural extravaganza.
The six days would be an art and handicraft exhibition immersed in the beauty and talent of Jammu & Kashmir where the visitors to this mini Kashmir can experience and shop for all things Kashmiri. The beauty of the program is further accentuated as the organizers have very creatively ensured that every day something new can be experienced by the visitors. Each day has a specific theme from J&K – Sufism & Shaivism, Art & Handicraft, Bollywood & Performing Arts, Youth & Sports, Education & Entrepreneurship and finally Tourism.
The program will have participation from 40+ eminent speakers and who would share their thoughts on the development and future of a prosperous J&K. The program is laced with celebrities and high octave performances from various celebrity artists who would be performing Sufi Singing, Kashmiri Folk Singing, Kashmiri Dance – Rouf & Dhumal, Kashmiri Theatre – Bhand Pather every day from 5 pm.
The environment planned for the program is again drenched in the beauty of J&K, highlighting the key monuments, places, people and most definitely the cuisine – Wazwan, which also has a spread of exquisite vegetarian dishes. The lawns of IGNCA would recreate a mini replica of J&K and there is no entry fee so that everyone can join with family and friends to experience the beauty of Kashmir and savor Kashmiri Qawah in sun-kissed winters of Delhi.
