Dear Delegates,
Urologists whether they are self employed in private practice or in Institutions need to
constantly update with latest developments to deliver contemporary standard of care and
all through the year attend several academic programs CMEs, live operative workshops,
Master classes...etc. Now-a-days innumerable programs are conducted at National,
Zonal, State & City levels, in addition Institutes, Hospitals and Medical colleges organize
various programs giving ample opportunities for delegates to choose what they want &
where.
In current practice Urologists have to be knowledgeable about “nonacademic” issues like
various Acts pertaining to Urology, MCI norms & ethical issues. With recent spate of
violent acts against doctors, we are also expected to know various procedures &
practices related to law. Sadly, little time is devoted to educate us on these topics during
our conferences.
Hence, USI has decided to organize an exclusive CME on several hitherto considered
peripheral issues in practice or “non-academic” aspects of Urology, which are relevant to
urologists. The debut of this series will be a Medico Legal conclave from Urologist's
perspective on 2,3 December 2017 at Chennai.
The program has been designed with ample time devoted to discussion on various
common aspects of legal medicine encountered in every day practice. PCPNDT act,
Transplant act, & MCI issues will be discussed at length. We are planning to invite
lawyers, retired judges, government authorities who are involved in making such acts &
also law enforcing authorities to participate in panel discussions. We have several
Urologists who are in MCI & many who are lawyers as well they will also be participating
in discussions. The meeting has been structured to allow delegates enough opportunity
to question, clear doubts and debate issues. Delegates will get answers from qualified
authorities & at the end of each session we shall try to get some consensus from experts.
Chennai is a metropolis with a strong academic foundation in all disciplines, it is well
connected to most cities in India & enjoys salubrious climate during December, which
also heralds the start of the hugely popular Annual Music festival. The venue Savera
hotel is superbly located in Mylapore the culture hub of Chennai combining the old with
the new. Music Sabhas, ethnic restaurants, historic temples, ever popular Marina beach
and street shopping are all a stroll away to spend the post conference evening.
We have no doubt that this program, first of its kind even though “Non-Urological” will
generate lot of interest among Urologists, and urge you to register early as the
registrations are limited to the first 300 only. This program is organized by USI entirely
for the benefit of USI members.
