About The Event

Are you an aspiring poet, a rising singer, an enthusiastic dancer or a fresh band? Are you looking for a platform to launch yourself from? Or simply want to demonstrate your skills? 

One Mic Stand is a platform for rising talent to demonstrate their skills to an appreciative audience. We invite artistes in any performing arts to exhibit their skills to the world and learn from the feedback. 
Perform amongst your peers and charm your audience. 

We’re looking for artistes in the following categories:

Poetry (4 mins)
Dance: Solo and Couple (5 mins)
Dance: Group > 3 (10 mins)
Singing/Rap (5 -10 mins)
Comedy: 5 mins
StoryTelling: 5 mins

Any equipment/instrument must be brought to the venue on your own. 

Poets/Comedians are encouraged to share their content beforehand. This helps us with scheduling and ensuring that we can manage the mood of the audience. 

Backing Tracks:

Poets and Storytellers are encouraged to use backing tracks to enhance their performance. We’ll be sharing some backing tracks with you. Backing tracks must be royalty free should you chose to bring your own. All backing tracks will be vetted by us beforehand. 

Singers are also requested to share if they chose to use any backing tracks. We do not have a band on set to provide instrumentals but you may get an accompanying track to help you perform. 

Dance Audio:

If possible, do ensure that your tracks are royalty free or you have the permission to use them commercially. We understand that this is not always possible, is beneficial since you will be able to use recorded videos commercially. 

Rules:
All participants must perform within the prescribed time limits
Please respect other participants. If you make fun of people, remember, we have a team of very talented comedians waiting to have a go at you. 
Please make sure your content is suitable for the audience. We donot wish to censor art, but remember that as a performer on stage, your primary responsibility is to entertain the audience. 
Arrive half an hour before the show begins so that we can schedule you properly.
