TEDxGateway – UnPlugged is a freestyle attendee driven camp with no set agenda, except discovering, what we call, “hidden-gem ideas”! Here, YOU are the force that will drive the camp – from being the speaker, managing the event, to even hosting it – “attendees truly are the kings!”
We at TEDxGateway believe that the inception of some of the greatest ideas have come through storytelling, and every person out there has a story worth sharing. Do you have a story that you think will have the audience erupt in fits of laughter or make them tear up through raw emotions? Do you have a message that has the ability to make people sit up, pay attention and want to actively make a change? If so, we are giving you a stage, a community of like-minded individuals and a whole lot of encouragement to nurture your inner storyteller.
So, go ahead – host a session, be a valuable audience member, be a speaker and a storyteller! We want you to have a memorable day filled with great connections to stories, ideas and people. Retire your formal attire and come unwind with UnPlugged!
EVENT FORMAT
For starters, this will be a daylong event on the Saturday, 03rd November 2018 in Mumbai. Speaker registrations are open and can be filled via the online form here. (Filling the online speaker form DOES NOT confirm you being a speaker). Every speaker who is shortlisted will receive a “Shortlist Email” but, your time and speaker slot can only be confirmed by you, personally, at the venue, on the day of the event. Please keep in mind that since this is a freestyle unstructured event, you will be required in person to confirm your own time and slot. These time slots are available on first come first serve basis. The speaker time slot registrations will be open between 9 am to 10 am on 03rd November 2018. The sessions will start from 10 am until 5 pm with a lunch break from 1 pm to 2 pm. A list of available 12-minute time slots will be displayed on a common board. All you have to do is post your name and core idea/topic against the time slot you would like to block and be in the correct room at the given time!
WHAT WE EXPECT?
We expect it to be a great day with lots of fun, learning, entertainment, eye-opening talks and some real motivation. As a speaker please ensure that your talk is factored in for 12 minutes or less. Once the alarm rings at the 12-minute mark, the audience will ask you to end your session. You can always continue talking about it along with the interested folks in the common spaces around the venue during the break!
This is not a corporate or business event. The people who will be attending are just passionate about ideas, stories, great conversations and of course, most importantly – having a great time! So be prepared for anything and everything – questions, statements, people walking in and out while you speak – there are no set rules. It’s like getting together with a group of friends and having great conversations!

HOW MUCH WILL THIS COST ME?
TEDxGateway – Unplugged is a community-led event and there are no fees/honorarium for being a speaker or for being an attendee.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE
TEDxGateway – Unplugged is not a platform or a community to talk, advertise or sell your products, services or any other such offerings. Since this is a free format, please do not take up a speaker slot to promote anything. The community has a great sense while judging what is being told to them and if they see an attempt to sell them anything they might choose to leave your session midway. For example, talking crash course in how to do social media right is a great idea but talking about your social media company and the services you provide, is not.
