The World's Fastest Drummer competition separates the great from the good. CGuide has come to prominence in the US as the single most competitive and educational drumming event around. It promotes not just speed, but technique and relaxation, power and control, in a contest that, in the great fashion of the drumming community, is open to everyone. Everyone competes. Everyone learns. Everyone enjoys.
Do you have what it takes to be the Fastest Drummer?
How does it work? The competition is governed by the Drumometer, a specially designed counter that records every beat played. For World's Fastest Drummer, the timer is set to 60 seconds, the Drumometer starts counting on the first hit and stops at the end of the minute. The most strokes notched up in the time wins!
The competition is split into two disciplines: The Battle of the Hands and the Battle of the Feet, and both follow the same rules.
The Hands competition uses the matching Drumometer trigger pad, and Zildjian will be providing an array of drumsticks for you to choose from (though feel free to bring your own personal favourites).
The Feet competition will use a Pearl Masters series bass drum in conjunction with an Axis a Longboard double bass drum pedal - the official pedal of Extreme Sport Drumming and the fastest, most efficient pedal available.
There is only one rule for both competitions: You may use any stroke technique you like, but for your run to qualify, you must play only single stroke rolls: no taps, doubles, bounces or buzzes will be permitted for an official total. Registration for the competition will start at 9 am on the day, with competition runs commencing at 10 am.
This will be a crazy day, so be sure to register early to guarantee your run. Trials will finish at 4pm sharp, with the top 5 hands and feet competing in the grand final from 4.30 pm onwards, for the title of the Fastest Drummer.
