MAHA SHAKTI AS PRATYANGARA KEEPS BLACK MAGIC AND EVIL EYE CASTING AWAY
There is a dark space that is void within the universal mother, Maha Shakthi and Pratyangara Devi comes from there. There’s a feeling of warmth and mysticism that is devoid of fear, time, limits, gain or loss etc. She shows herself fiercely when witch craft and black magic surface. She has a dark complexion, reddish eyes with four hands holding a trident, an entwined serpent that looks like a noose, a pellet drum and the severed trunk of a demon. She appears as a quick and sometimes vicious energy and has a mix of good and evil in her. Her combination of lion and human forms has earned her the name Narasimhika. She is also, correlated to Bhairava, and has another adaptation Atharvana BhadraKali.
LORD VISHNU AS NARASIMHA THE ALL PERVADING LORD
Enough has been said of Lord Narasimha which is the fourth Avatar (incarnation) of Lord Vishnu in the epic Dasavataram. Since Lord Vishnu as Varaha killed the demon Hiranyaksha, his brother Hiranyakashipu, undertook many years of severe penance to seek revenge. Lord Brahma granted the demon a very complicated boon with many stipulations like, no human or living being, neither god nor devil, neither inside nor outside a dwelling, in sky or earth, neither day nor night can cause death, as per his request.
Lord Shiva As SARBESHWARA THE MOST POWERFUL
As per Vedic ure, in order to calm down Narasimha, the avatar of Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva took the form of Sarbeshwara. After demolishing the demon king Hiranyakashipu, Narasimha was not conciliated, so in order to appease Lord Narasimha all devas requested Lord Shiva to tackle Narasimha. Firstly, Lord Shiva sends his earthly mascots, Bhairava and Virabhadra to calm down Narasimha, but in vain. Later, he takes a giant frightening form, Sarbeshwara, a Yazhi bird with human body and eagle’s wings having Goddess Pratyangara Devi on one wing and Goddess Durga on the other. In his four hands he holds a deer, battle axe, snake and fire. Two of his four feet rests on a mountain.
Lord Sarbeshwara with all the powers within him strikes Narasimha with his wings and the avatar god becomes unconscious. Sarbeshwara carries him high up to the sky and drops him down and swoons. As he regains consciousness he becomes calm and devoid of anger. Narasimha snaps out of his fury, concedes to the power of Shiva and then vanishes leaving his body behind. Now Sarbeshwara disappears and Virabhadra appears to rip open the remains of the avatar god and that’s what we see draped around Lord Shiva—the hide of Narasimha, and the trunk is seen adorning the garland of his neck.
