In India, Puppetry is know as an art form and also an educational tool to create awareness.
Rangaputhali Puppeteers is a team formed by Sri M R Ranganatha Rao and now Continued with his children's Sri M R Vijay and Sri M R Srnivas.
The Puppets used are known as rod cum string puppets and made by wood which weighs about 10-12kgs. This team is having the history of 350 years and continuing this rare act form as family tradition.
The Team has performed many performance across India and across Globe such as USA, Japan, Switzerland etc..,
The Team has also been awarded Central Sangeetha Nataka Award in 1981 and Karnataka State award in 2014 and 2016.
Presently the team is headed by M R Vijay and M R Srinivas with team members Sri Anandmurty, Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Narasimha, Sri Lokesh, Sri Koushik, Sri Praveen and Sri Raghu.
