Trekdi Invites you to visit four offbeat forts of history.
Asherigad is just left of nh8 highway. Easy grade fort.
The trekking route starts from Khodkona and winds through the forest to reach Khadkawane and further straight ahead to climb the ridge to the north of the mountain.
Adsul fort is a pinnacle like structure. That is easily visible from asherigad.
Tandulwadi fort is situated at around 4.87 km on north east of Saphale station.
On the top of the fort, one can find many water cisterns dug in the rocks, water reservoirs and remains of ramparts. Vaitarna River flows to the east of this hill.
The view is simply awesome from your first halt we could see Saphale town and if I am not mistaken we could also see Palghar.
Once a lesser-known fort, Kohoj Fort has become a trekkers’ favourite. Very few of the historical evidences are coherent to this fort. Looking at its well-dug cisterns, the fort can be said to be belonging to Bhoj-period. But no such evidences are available.
