About The Event

About the workshop :

Systems engineering is an interdisciplinary approach and means to enable the realization of successful systems. Systems Engineering as a crucial discipline and practice has been adopted for successfully realizing many complex systems. Systems Engineering involves looking at a problem in its entirety, taking into account all the facets and the variables and relating the social to the technical aspect. System Engineers play different roles - Requirements owner, Systems architect, System analyst, System integrator and IPT (Integrated Product Team) coordinator. System engineers keep the ‘Technical Conscience’ of the system through its lifecycle and are in effect the glue binding diverse constituent elements together. This workshop provides insights into key systems engineering concepts & practices.

 Workshop Facilitators

Ramakrishnan Raman is currently Practice Head - Reuse Engineering  at Honeywell Technology Solutions, Bangalore. He has BTech and MS (by Research) degrees from IIT Madras, India. He has extensive systems engineering & software engineering experience in domains of Building/ Industrial Automation, and Avionics/ Aerospace. At Honeywell, he has significantly contributed to the design & development of many complex systems in Building/ Industrial Automation, and Avionics/Aerospace. He was also a key contributor to development of the organization's systems engineering processes, the software architecture & design processes, and has led the systems engineering council for the aero business unit in Honeywell Technology Solutions. He is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt (2003), and INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (2005).

Dr. T V Gopal has B.E (Elecronics & Communications) from Osmania University, Hyderabad, M.Tech (Computer Science) from Hyderabad Central University, Hyderabad and Ph.D in “Distributed Operating Systems" from Anna University. His areas of interest include Operating Systems, Distributed Computing, Usability Engineering and Science and Spirituality. He is the Chairman, CSI Division II [Software] and Advisor for "CSI Communications" - a monthly publication of the Computer Society of India. He is an Expert Member of Editorial Advisory Board of International Journal of Information Ethics. He has published 42 Research Papers and 6 papers in the area of Science and Spirituality.
