StoryTelling Chouboli

We are hosting the Pune based storytelling collective, the Storytellers, who will perform 'Chouboli', a Marwari folktale transcribed and reworked by folklorist Padma Shri Mr. Vijaydan Detha.

‘Chouboli’ is set in times of Rajas and Maharajas, though the concerns addressed are as relevant today as are the contemporary references we might add. The story of Chouboli weaves an enchanting tapestry of royalty, clever princesses, gender equality, wondrous men, power, riddles and much more. The story gifts us insights through the lyrical beauty and wry wit of Vijaydan Detha.

The story, performed in English, will be followed by a short interaction with the audience.
