With an intent to build a community of storytellers and people, every third Saturday of the month, Storycellar gathering happens. The idea is to enjoy the grandma-style stories, building empathy and understanding with people.
This month the young storytellers will be exploring the theme 'Freedom and Slavery'.
In ancient Roman religion, Feronia was the goddess who granted freedom to slaves or civil rights to the most humble parts of the society. Her festival, the Feroniae, was November 13. Some sources state that slaves were set free at her temple near Terracina. A stone at the Terracina shrine was inscribed with "let deserving slaves sit down so that they may stand up free".
