The Indian industry has in the recent past witnessed remarkable growth in key sectors such as Automotive, Oil & Gas, Power, Steel, Chemical, Infrastructure etc leading to tremendous growth and demand for the Steel Tubes & Pipes industry. While the steel tube and pipe sector has high growth prospects and has the capability of meeting all the international specifications, it is essential to understand the shifts in the domestic consumption patterns as well as the future requirements and expectations by the user industries.
The major raw material for the Steel Tubes and Pipes industry is HR/CR coils and plates which comprise over 75% of the total cost of production. Hence, it becomes critical that the steel suppliers to the Tube and Pipes industry be an integral part in this journey of growth and the Steel Suppliers and Pipe/Tube manufacturers work in tandem to serve the growing demand of the Indian economy.
Against this background, the Steel Tube Division of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organising the Steel Tube Summit – 2011 on 26 August 2011 at Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi. The main objective of the summit is to provide an appropriate platform for deliberations and understand the latest trends, developments and opportunities in the Indian Steel Tube Industry. The Summit would focus on the overview of Indian Steel Tubes & Pipes industry, its challenges and opportunities, technological development and present a road map for the Indian Steel Tube Industry.
Mr Pradeep Kumar Misra, Secretary, Ministry of Steel, Government of India will inaugurate the summit.
