Stand up Comedy Workshop

A 3 hour Program featuring
Screening of Best Comedy Films Clippings – 30 minutes
Networking – 30 minutes
Workshop – 120 minutes

Over the 3 hours you will cover
1. The History of Comedy – what is the roots of stand-up comedy, comedy videos, where do comedians fit into things in the world today.
2. A 2-hour course covering essentials in preparing for, writing and performing stand-up comedy. Improvisation games, Drama games, Acting from a script, writing comedy songs, work on a stand-up routine.
3. We break off into groups, each led by a tutor where each participant gets to focus on creating and refining their own routine. Editing and performing material written. Covering the essentials in preparing for, writing and performing stand up.
4. Performing in front of the group at the end of the day! Each person performs 2 minutes of stand up in front of the group at the end of the day. More relaxed general chat, no pressure on everyone to actually get up and perform.
5. The final show – the students perform their sets, alongside professional comedians – prizes for the best.
