Travel to Majhkali, Ranikhet in Uttarakhand for a cosmic experience of 3 days of mapping and photographing the night skies in the realms of the lofty Himalayas. Admire the beauty of the night skies as you enjoy stargazing and study the stars and planets. Aperture Telescopes has been conducting practical astrophotography workshop in India since 2010.
The total duration of the workshop is for 8 weeks which includes online tutorials followed by an intense photography session amidst the sky in the Himalayas. At the start of the workshop participants become familiar with the equipment and the method of photography.
The participants are also provided with the tutorials on a daily basis and they have a chance to engage with co-participants online. Then they all meet at Majkhali, where they shoot the sky in multifarious ways, a variety of focal lengths and field of view. An immense amount of raw astrophotographs are collected which form the workshop repository.
The entire workshop repository, which comes about 200 GB data, is provided to every participant. The repository forms the third part of the workshop – post-processing. Daily videos and tutorials (online) provide insights on how to effectively process the astrophotography data.
