Science Explorers Quest (Sr- Module2)

About the event: 

"Activity before Concept, Concept before Vocabulary". That is how one should learn science. Selected 25 experiments/activities from the high school physics, chemistry and biology syllabi to help students learn science through experiments. These experiments will help them learn concepts better and forever.  Let’s move children away from rote learning.  

All the experiments are split into two modules of 25 experiments each. Both the modules are independent and can be done in any order. You can do only the one you like.  

In Module 2, you would do the following experiments: 

• Electroplating: Coating Metal over Metal

• Fruit battery 
• Smoky rings (Charle's and Boyle's law)

• Precipitation experiments 
• Reactivity Series: Comparing the reactivity of Elements 
• Gel electrophoresis: Macromolecules separation and analysis  
• Antimicrobial effectiveness: Inhibiting the growth of bacteria  
• Mold observation: Microscopic observation of moulds 
• Diffusion: Investigate The Impact Of Cell Size In Diffusion   
• Identifying sugar content in sugar, jaggery and honey 
• Making rollercoaster 
• Defects of vision: Correction of myopia and hypermetropia   
• Make Electromagnet (permanent and temporary) 
• Newton's laws of motion 
• Eddy current braking 

• Neutralization reaction 
• Neither solid nor liquid - Oobleck 
• Gauss Rifle: Magnetic Linear Accelerator   
• Pond biodiversity: Exploring the hidden world of microbes 
• Paper Recycling: Reprocess Your Waste Paper for Reuse   
• What Effect Do Ultraviolet Rays Have on Yeast Colony Growth? 
• Ohm's Law: Relationship Between Current and Voltage 

Duration: 4 hours a day for 5 days 

Minimum Age: 13 years

Experient Science Labs, founded by Virendra Paliwal, an XLRI and Infosys alum, in 2017, has a state-of-the-art facility spanning over 2700 square feet. It is a go to labs for school students, our lab has been the venue for over 200 experiments and tinkering activities conducted by more than 3000 students over the past seven years.
