SCAT Media & Consultancy Pvt Ltd is involved in a wide variety of activities all closely related to the Indian Cable TV & Satellite Broadcasting industry.

Our activities include:

Satellite & Cable TV magazine began publication in March 1993 as India's first print magazine devoted exclusively to the then emerging Indian Cable TV and Satellite broadcasting industry.

Today, the Indian Cable TV (CATV) industry services over 90 million homes and provides most of these with almost 100 television channels, both pay and free to air. In tandem, Satellite & Cable TV has grown to become India's largest CATV and satellite broadcasting trade magazine. The main edition with a print run of 12,500 copies per month carries bilingual content in both English and Hindi. The bilingual content ensures that a single advertisement reaches out to readers of both languages.

The Satellite & Cable (SCAT) DTH TV Guide is published monthly in English. This is a TV program guide targeted at TV viewers in India.

The SCAT DTH TV Guide provides detailed half hour listings of all programs, spanning 50 of the most popular channels. The DTH TV Guide also provides its readers TV program related content, which includes previews and synopsis of popular programs, news on telestars and gossip.

The SCAT DTH TV Guide is the country's only publication providing this information, on a consolidated monthly basis.

The Satellite & Cable TV India Tradeshow is held annual at the World Trade Centre, Mumbai. Now in its 22nd year, the event is India's largest Cable TV and Satellite broadcast tradeshow. The 3 day event attracts more than 16,500 cable TV professionals from all parts of India.

For the past several years, the SCAT Annual Tradeshow has been approved by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Indian government's ITPO approval enables all foreign exhibitors to import and re-export their exhibits free of customs duty.

Our freight forwarders R E Rogers provide exhibitors door-to-door delivery of their exhibits from their works to their Tradeshow stall and back.

The Annual SCAT Tradeshow attracts a wide variety of exhibitors, their profiles range from CATV hardware manufacturers, broadband service and technology providers as well as satellite broadcasters and TV channels.

The company has organised and conducted more than 90 Workshops, spanning every major city in India. These Workshops provide Indian cable operators an opportunity to update their technical knowledge. The Workshops provide practical information for cable networks to improve and upgrade their services and network capabilities.

In the past these Workshops have included eminent speakers from leading international companies including Barco, Scientific Atlanta, NDS, Great Lakes Datasystems Inc., Arcom, Eastern and others.

The company also provides a range of consultancy services.

These include market estimates for hardware sales, market and Indian regulation related information as well as technical consultancy related to cable networks and setting up of satellite channels and their distribution in India.

The company is headed by Mr. Sudeep Malhotra (Chairman) and Mr. Dinyar Contractor (Executive Director), each of whom have been associated directly with the industry in India since it began soon after the Gulf war in 1991.
