Placed 60 kms west of Bangalore, Savadurga is the largest monolith hills in Asia. It’s a part of Deccan Plateau and one of the challenging and best trekking places near Bangalore. Two hills – Billigudda and Karigudda, makes Savandurga. Ramanagara, a deep valley separates these two massive rock formations. The place Savina Durga, literally meaning The Fort of Death, acquired its name since 18th century when King of Mysore used this place as keeping prisoners who had been sentenced to death.
