About The Event

“Be the Agent of Change’’ - 5 K Run or 2K Walk

Let’s join hands together and celebrate a wonderful special day – World Disability Day (WDD) normally celebrated on 3rd of December every year and promoted as an international observance by the United Nations from 1992.

Cheshire Disability Trust (CDT) urges you to come forward and be an agent of change - to make the world a better place to live in.

To mark this special day, Cheshire Disability Trust is organizing a 5K Run – “Be the agent of Change”, even if you do not want to run the 5K, you can still support us by taking part in the small 2K walk we have planned. Please see below for details:-

The run is being organised to create awareness of disability and to encourage the public and the Corporate Sector to be agents of change to build an inclusive society.

Action packed RUN creating awareness of disability

A variety of activities are planned throughout the run where participants will be provided an opportunity to experience disability, visit stalls where assistive devices used by PWDs are displayed and to interact with a lot of PWDs.

The final stretch will be marked as “Disability Experience Zone” where the participants will get to experience the life of people with disabilities for a few minutes.

We are expecting about 1000 participants including volunteers, employees, delegates from partner organizations, people with disability and other interested people to take part in the event.

About Cheshire Disability Trust

Cheshire Disability Trust started its core project “Livelihood Resource Centre” in the year 2008, with a vision of creating a society in which every disabled person can enjoy their rights and has the opportunity to fulfil their potential.  The Livelihood Training Centre works for people with disabilities from the vulnerable sections of society; provides employability training and employment opportunities.

The average cost for training and placing one PWD is Rs. 15,000/ any donation you make will go towards the same.

Please donate generously and join hands with CDT to support PWDs to get decent employment and help them live a dignified life.
