Pune, September 15th , 2017:  The countdown to Pune’s biggest NGOs fair has begun with ISHANYA Foundation announcing its 10th Yellow Ribbon NGO Fair 2017 to be held from Sept 15th to Sept 18th, 2017 in Pune. ISHANYA Foundation, notably known for their contribution towards the areas of several programs in women empowerment, livelihood programs, and health & education is all set for the 10 years celebration of YRNF 2017 with over 100 NGO’s / SHG’s and artisans participating from across India. The fair will be inaugurated on Friday, 15th September 2017 at the hands of Chief Guest Mrs. Nawaz Modi  Singhania, India’s leading fitness and wellness Icon along with Mrs. Parul Mehta, Founder Trustee, ISHANYA Foundation.

 

 

 

Aegis of Yellow Ribbon NGO Fair aims towards providing a larger platform to the artisans and custodians of India cultural heritage by recognizing their individuality, taking pride in their craft while empowering them to become self-reliant and self-sufficient. The fair will showcase handpicked portfolio of items and festive collections from over 100 NGOs and artisans from across the country by way of weaves and artefacts directly from the artisans.

 

 

 

YRNF, over the years has transformed into a platform showcasing repository of folklore cultural traditions and skilled craftsmanship, providing the artisans an access to the urbane audience. YRNF has seen tremendous growth in stature with over 50 repeat participants, growing interest of NGOs/SHGs supporting varied dying art forms from across the country and increasing response from visitors’ year-on-year. Driven by the phenomenal response the artisans who participated last year, this year YRNF received enquiries from over 200 NGO’s/SHG’s/artisans supporting varied art forms.

 

 

 

This four- day event will bring together a variety of products from hand-made cards, handmade exclusive paper products which are eco-friendly and made from recyclable paper, crafts material, handwoven and traditional weaves, decorative diya’s, torans, exquisite designs from Weavers across India in sarees, duppattas, clutches; helping you get ready for the upcoming festive season well in advance. The exhibition will also present food items, home-made snacks, masala’s, pure A2 variety desi cow’s ghee for all the health fanatics. Additionally, this event will also have an assortment of gifting items, hand crafted jewellery, jute bags, Patachitra paintings, curative diya’s corporate gifting items and much more which become a perfect gifting option for your loved ones.

 

 

 

On completing 10 years of Yellow Ribbon NGO Fair, Mrs. Parul Mehta, Founder and Trustee of Ishanya Foundation, highlighted, “We are extremely proud to take Yellow Ribbon NGO Fair to its tenth edition. We were overwhelmed by the response from NGOs across the country who were eager to participate. In the interest of survival and safeguarding the rich and diverse culture and art heritage of India, we should all come forward to support the artisan and craftsmen, making it meaningful for them to continue and take pride in their skills. The onus to revive and survive our cultural heritage, contribute to sustainability, drive social impact is in our hands and we should do what it takes to ensure that this heritage does not fade out or become extinct”

 

 

 

In order to continue with their legacy, Ishanya Foundation has also incorporated several activities to empower and encourage the NGO’s to enhance their skills. The participating NGO’s and SHG’s are from across India displaying products which include a range from Ecofriends community who are largely known for designing t-shirts, Solar caps and cloth bags; Weavers silk centre which is an NGO based out of Banaras is all known for their Banarasi Handicraft sarees, blouse pieces and all handloom goods. Also, participating will be Shantiniketan, West Bengal known for its Bishuni work, dokra art, Om Mahila Bachat Gat, Matheran who are known for their exclusive and forever stylish Kolhapuri Chappals and Akhil Bhartiya Mahila Bachat Gat, Satkheda, focussing on benefits of Desi Cow's Ghee-A2 Variety, Kramayog, Kolkata, a trust for academic upliftment of under-privileged children display exclusive hand-made paper products.

 

 

 

The Foundation aims to help create self-reliant & self-sufficient youth, pre-dominantly women, farmers & their families in & across India. They’re taking major strides in complying and demonstrating the progressive improvements in this sector, supporting SME’s and women artisans to enter into the urban markets apart from their local areas. It provides them with a unique opportunity to learn, share, network, and generate new ideas reaching out to a wider audience.

Ishanya Foundation is a Registered Trust under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950, April 2006. They conduct several outreach programs promoting Women Empowerment, Livelihood programs, Health & Education in the urban areas of Pune and villages around Taloja, in Raigad District.
