About the place: Literally meaning “Moon Rock”, Chandrashila is located 158 Kms from Rishikesh and is an untouched beauty of nature. Located at a height of 4000 metres above the sea level , it has many legends associated with it. One of them says that Lord Rama meditated here after defeating Ravana. Another one talks about Moon God Chandra spending time in atonement.

Why a photography tour: Chopta, a small hamlet on the foothills of Chandrashila is picturesque and is still unexplored by travellers. Chandrashila itself offers splendid views of the imposing Himalayan ranges including Trishul, Nanda Devi and Chaukhamba stretched widely.
