About The Event

Phansad wildlife sanctuary located about 150 kms from Mumbai, is a great getaway for birdwatchers and photography enthusiasts. Formerly a part of the hunting reserve of the erstwhile Nawabs of Murud Janjira, the sanctuary was created in the year 1986 to conserve the diverse wildlife of the Western Ghats on the coastal region.

It is home to mammals such as leopard, wild boars, barking deer and birds including Yellow-footed green pigeon, Crested serpent eagle etc.
The sanctuary is perfect for nature lovers and macro photo enthusiastic and is biodiversity hotspot for various species of butterflies, snakes, frogs and other insects.

Itinerary :

Day 1
Reporting at Pritam Hotel, Dadar at 6.30 am. Other pick up point at Vashi. Departure for Phansad. Breakfast enroute. Reach Phansad. Lunch. Evening trail. Dinner. Rest. Night trail outside the sanctuary (optional, depends on rains)

Day 2
Breakfast at Phansad. Morning trail. Lunch.
Start return journey for Mumbai

Total cost – Rs 4000 per person

Includes –
Transportation by private vehicle.
Basic accommodation in dormitory on sharing basis.
All meals
Entry fee and naturalist charges

Excludes -
Personal order/expenses of participants.

Things to be carried – Water (at least 2 liters), torch with extra batteries, towel, napkin, extra set of clothes, proper footwear and rainy shoes are compulsory, personal medicines, dry snacks, raingear (raincoat/umbrella), camera (optional).
