Pilates is a form of physical conditioning which helps towards the betterment of postures by working smaller and deeper muscles. Introducing Fletcher School of Pilates in Bangalore through a 14 days bootcamp before we jump into the festivities and welcome the new year stronger and healthier.

 

Body Contrology - now known simply as Pilates - is a complete physical conditioning program, incorporating strength, flexibility, coordination, balance and endurance training. The dual emphasis on movement awareness and efficient body mechanics is key to improving posture, alignment, and overall body balance. 

 

 Pilates involves concentration and physical awareness. The form is elegant, graceful and balanced. The goal: proper body alignment; lengthened, well-toned muscles; flexible joints and increased physical strength, stamina and mental clarity.

 

Developed by Joseph and Clara Pilates in the 1920s and expands to include its evolution and interpretation by Pilates Master Ron Fletcher. He was a student of the modern dancer and choreographer Martha graham.



Fletcher Pilates is unique while being true to the fundamentals of classical pilates. Apart from the Mat work, Ron fletcher was the first to the work completely into standing and included movement across the floor clearly inspired by dance. Fletcher towelwork, percussive breathing technique, Barrework and Floorwork are the other equipment-less work in this school of pilates.

 

Practiced in the early days by elite dancers and a select few professional athletes, Pilates is now in the fitness mainstream and is considered one of the most versatile and effective overall physical conditioning methods in existence. An estimated 7 million people worldwide now actively participate in a Pilates-based fitness regimen. Clearly, the revolution envisioned by Joseph Pilates nearly a century ago has become a reality.
