An ornithopter (from Greek Ornithos "bird" and Petron "wing"), a bio-mimicry of birds, bats and insects, is an aircraft that flies by using the same mechanism as birds: flapping its wings instead of using engines for propulsion like most of the modern day aerodynamic models.
This workshop encompasses all the concepts and principles involved in the aerodynamics of an Ornithopter. The workshop begins with an elaborate lecture on bird flight, moves on to design and fabrication sessions and ends with testing/competition, thereby providing a complete learning experience to the participants.
Understand, design and fabricate the entire ornithopter yourselves under the guidance of our faculty.
The workshop is developed and delivered by IIT Kanpur Aerospace Engineering Graduates.
The workshop is divided into 3 modules:
The following awards would be announced at the end of the workshop. The same would be published at www.aerotrix.com/participant-awards
Certificate of Participation is provided to all participants from AerotriX and Ornithopter Zone, USA. Certificate of Merit is provided to the award recipients.
In addition to this you are eligible for certificationthrough an online examination (http://etest.aerotrix.com) wherein you can quantify your learning from the workshop. A certificate containing your score in the exam will be provided to you.
