Oakridge International School Newton Campus, Hyderabad, in partnership with the prestigious Punahou School, Hawaii, USA brings you the opportunity to participate in the second edition of the Oakridge Student Global Leadership Institute (Oakridge SGLI) and be inducted into an elite network of young global leaders with a mission to create a better future.
The Student Global Leadership Institute was launched by the Punahou School, Hawaii, in 2010 with a mission to develop a community of international youth leaders who understand common global issues and to encourage positive action toward social change. The program is made possible by generous grants from the Edward E. Ford Foundation and the Education Research Initiative (a partnership of Lenovo, Intel and Microsoft), with additional support from the Freeman Foundation, the Luke Center for Chinese Studies, Stephen E. and Isabella H. Stevens World Peace Foundation.

Since 2016, Oakridge has started a Hyderabad chapter of SGLI called OakridgeSGLI. The theme for Oakridge SGLI 2017 is Peace. This yearlong program will commence in Hyderabad with an intensive two-week summit at Oakridge International School, during which students will participate in workshops, discussions and field trips that will help them develop social-action projects suitable for their home cities, and the collaborative style of leadership needed to carry them out. The students would be required to implement their projects during their senior year, aided by a customized computer network that allows them to track their progress, support one another through online discussions, broaden their social perspective and exchange ideas with different cultures. A diverse network of mentors, including faculty, non-profit leaders and entrepreneurs, would provide support.
Learning across cultures is significant in creating a platform for students to broaden their perspectives and to work towards making the world a better place. Students of this generation have an important role to play as peacebuilders of the nation. The SGLI program gives the young children an opportunity to work in groups on peacebuilding projects and help their understanding in conflict resolution.

The campus at ICRISAT is beautiful with extraordinary access to nature providing the right ambience and atmosphere to enrich the whole experience of the camp. The ICRISAT campus offers opportunities for other outdoor pursuits as well including a swimming pool, tennis courts, cross country running and cycling. There is round the clock security with guards controlling both entries and exits to the campus. The campus is also monitored by CCTV.
The rooms offer double occupancy and are well equipped with a telephone extension, cable Television, coffee and tea Maker, dining/living area and a balcony overlooking the ICRISAT landscape.
