Nir-Bhaya Self Defence Academy ’s, Self Defence Course is our Flagship Program. Mission:- NIR-Bhaya Self Defence Academy’s aim is to train the maximum number of children(girls and boys), ladies and men in Self Defence / Martial Arts. This will help empower them to defend themselves, their friends and family from any kind of abuse /attack. with confidence and get to safety. This course is very popular because we are not only teaching Martial Arts (Karate, Kung Fu…), but it is also, a practical approach to personal safety with an emphasis on detecting and defusing potentially dangerous situations. our Instructors are certified and have a unique ability to teach the students in an effective and memorable manner. We do extensive Research in this subject of Self Defence and Martial Arts. We from NIR-Bhaya Self Defence Academy are planning A Grand Walkathon on October 02nd 2018 on 'Gandhi Jayanthi Day'. Our Motto is to create an Awareness about abuse/rape, that is happening against children, girls, and women & also the Importance of Self Defence knowledge to defend themselves against any kind of Abuse.
We are having this on Gandhi Jayanthi Day because: Gandhiji, Had told that ' Independence in the True Sense is got only on the day, a woman can walk alone on the streets at the dead of night even around 12 0' clock without any fear '. That is the time we get true INDEPENDENCE. One can clearly see, we still haven't got it. And also the situation has gone from bad to worse. Today, even a baby, child or woman of any age, is not spared. Anyone can be targeted at any time and it is happening not only in Bangalore or Karnataka or South India or North India or just India, rape is happening every second across the Globe. So we are taking this Initiative to Create an Awareness about this. We feel one of the ways to prevent this is by making the Vulnerable Victims or General Public Confident and empowered enough to face any kind of situation Bravely and Defend themselves or their near and Dear ones and escape from the situation fearlessly. This can happen if one is equipped with the Art of Self Defence with Yoga and Meditation. In some cases, Counselling is also essential. It is for this purpose that we are coming up with this Walkathon to Create the Awareness and also raise funds to Train more students /Trainers and also to improve our infrastructure. We aim to train people from low-income groups who cannot afford this kind of important training. We also want to do Research on this issue and conduct case studies to understand the mentality, the situation in which the criminals behave like this. We want to help the victims and also the vulnerable ones, by creating a support system. We are coming up with a Souvenir for this occasion, with Articles written by Eminent Personalities. The Front Page of the Souvenir is Designed by Well Known Senior Artist, Mrs. Bharati Sagar, who was kind enough to Oblige. She also Endorses the Views and Mission of our Academy.
