About The Event

About the Event
Sarod Maestro, Amjad Ali Khan is one of the finest classical musicians in the country and needs no introduction. The sixth generation of musicians, he has carried forth the glorious tradition handed over to him by his father and passed it down to his sons Amaan and Ayaan.

Talented musicians in their own right, Amaan and Ayaan are the seventh generation of musicians who have taken up the sarod and continued its legacy. Both sons began their public performances, like their father, at a tender age and have since been performing concerts worldwide. Individually and together with their father as well they have performed some of the best Indian classical music in the industry. Together both brothers have even authored two books one on the life of their father and the second on the top 50classical music maestros along with one each of their best work.

The most recent concert the trio performed together was at American Folk artist, Carrie Newcomer’s Lotus Arts Festival in Bloomington and this 25th of March 2012 they will perform together again, this time at Hyderabad’s Shilpkala Vedika Auditorium.

Soulful and enticing the music played on the sarod by the Maestro and his protégés is one of a kind and something you do not want to miss so come listen to the trio perform the best of Indian classical music forth second series of “Passing the Baton” by Perfect Harmony Productions and Cisne for Arts.
