Though partying and beaches is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of Goa, there is a bewitching natural wonder on the Goa- Karnataka border that will take your breathe away, the amazing Dudhsagar falls. The 5th tallest waterfalls in India, Dudhsagar literally meaning ‘Sea of Milk’ - is called so for its three-streamed waterfalls cascading down 600 metres in milk-white sheets. It's easily one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world and the trek to falls has an added highlight, a good old railway track! Trekking through a railway track that winds through forests, tunnels and waterfalls is a rare and enriching experience.

  •  A 12 Km yet easy trek with an unique experience of trekking on the railway track that winds through forests, tunnels and waterfalls in the monsoons!

Itinerary (From Bangalore)
Day 1
10:00 pm : Start off from Bangalore (Yeswanthpur) by train to Sonaulim.
Day 2
11:00 am : Reach Sonaulim camping area. Take rest and have lunch.
01:00 pm : Start off trek to Dudhsagar waterfalls.
02;30 pm : Reach Dudhsagar waterfalls.
03:30 pm : Start back to camp site.
05:00 pm : Reach back campsite and take rest.
08:00 pm : Have dinner and enjoy campfire.
Day 3
05:00 am : Start off trek to Dudhsagar waterfalls base.
06:00 am : Reach Dudhsagar waterfalls base and spend some time.
07:00 am : Return back to Campsite.
09:00 am : Have breakfast.
10:00 am : Start trek back to Kulem Railway Station.
04:00 pm : Board train to Bangalore (Majestic).
Day 4
07:00 am : Reach back Bangalore (Majestic)

Checklist

 

Things you need to bring:
  • Rucksack/ backpack to carry your personal belongings (preferably water proof).
  • Sleeping Bag or couple of blankets/bed sheets.
  • Trekking shoes with good grip & two pairs of socks (it's optional if you have floaters with good grip)
  • Dress change for 2 days along with a swimming costume & few plastic covers to keep wet cloths.
  • Torch with extra batteries (Strictly no mobile torch).
  • Water Bottle min (2 liters)
  • Personal medicines if you use any (General first aid would be with host) & ORS packet.
  • Carry Identification card.- Govt recognized one
  • Toiletries ( Brush , tooth paste, soap ,shampoo etc)  
  • Food/Snacks:dry fruits, energy bars, dates, cashew,citrus fruits,etc
  • Insect or mosquito repellent
  • Sunscreen
