MobiSparks 2012 India is the world’s second largest mobile market and has the third largest Internet population. Mobile phones are surpassing all other media in terms of penetration in the country: TV, radio, Internet, newspapers, magazines and landlines – creating a ‘mobile first’ and even ‘mobile only’ market. Mobile platforms are becoming the natural choice for extending essential and innovative digital services to the broadest section of the population. From humble SMS and basic voice to smartphones and enterprise workflow, mobile is a growing choice for new content and services.
Unlike other tech showcase events or startup pitches, YourStory’s unique MobiSparks 2012 is positioned to be a Mobile Innovation Discovery Platform for startups in India. Leveraging on its earlier acclaimed events (TechSparks and E-Sparks), MobiSparks 2012 is an invitation to emerging mobile startups and product companies to showcase their innovations before an audience of peers, investors, analysts, media, industry giants and international stakeholders. From the submitted pool, 20 finalists will be shortlisted by YourStory, and a panel of experts will choose the 10 winners based on their pitches.
MobiSparks is a “director’s cut” of discovery stories about innovative and scale phase mobile entrepreneurs. The scope of mobile services will address opportunities in areas such as:
Various VAS products and services
