  • Techniques to highlight issues such as urban expansion, changes in forest cover, melting of glaciers, natural and man-made disasters in India and the world.

In this 2-day workshop, participants will be introduced to methods of making maps that highlight changes to the environment in India and the world.

Important:

  • Participants MUST bring their own laptops to enhance their learning experience.
  • Participants should download software used in this workshop (GRASS GIS) from https://grass.osgeo.org/download/
  • Workshop is over two-days on 7th and 8th January 2017. Participants must be present on both days to benefit from the workshop.

Rahul Chopra received his Ph.D. from the Department of the Geophysical Sciences at the University of Chicago. His research interests are multidisciplinary and include the use of satellite derived remotely sensed and in-situ data to evaluate our changing environment; field based geological and environmental studies, and the use of high resolution chemical analyses instruments and data to study various earth and environmental processes. Additionally, he is also interested in developing programs, curriculum, and teaching resources in Environmental Sciences and Studies.
