Vikas Verma - Founder - CEO, The Colour Factory / Beneffect

Vikas Verma has a post graduate degree in Business Administration from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, and has worked for over 25 years in diverse industries such as Shipping, Consumer Products, Media/Internet and Retail, in the functional areas of Sales, Operations, Marketing, HR and Business Development

Vikas started his career in the shipping industry with The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd as part of the navigating staff, responsible for cargo management and logistics and crew management, on board various merchant ships. He has since then worked companies such as Asian Paints, Marico Industries and Benckiser India in the consumer products sector, and Barista Coffee Company Ltd. in the retail sector.


He is the founder and CEO of Rimika Enterprises, which owns the brand The Colour Factory™, India’s first Paint‐Your‐Own‐Pottery store – a unique leisure activity retail concept which has been introduced in India for the first time, and has even found mention in the Limca Book of Records 2007. The Colour Factory™ is a pottery store where you can create your own designs on various ceramic items to make your own customized pottery.


Vikas has had an extensive involvement with Technology, Media and Internet industries and ventures. At Television Eighteen India (now Network 18), he was responsible for establishing CNBC in India. At Bharti BT Internet, he launched the Mantra Online Internet service. Thereafter, he turned entrepreneur and set up his own Internet portal, Webquity e‐Marketing, which managed and operated India’s largest discount and demand aggregation web site www.khuljasimsim.com as well as city centric content portals among others.

Vikas is currently managing the India operations of IHC (Wah Restaurants – Birdy’s) – a food & hospitality company. He has to his credit the conception and launch of a number of successful consumer brands as well as strategic business planning and systems development in diverse environments.

He has also been extensively involved in teaching and training at various management institutes. His core area of expertise is Entrepreneurship & Leadership, New Product Development and Brand Management. He is an angel investor who is especially avid about coaching & mentoring and shares his time between innovative entrepreneurial projects and coaching young entrepreneurs.

Vikas is a theatre enthusiast, a keen reader and a technophile who also loves outdoor sports and is especially passionate about golf.
