About The Event

LBSS : Luxury Brand Strategy Skills by Luxury Connect Business School has been designed to provide intrinsic luxury fundamental knowledge to enhance required skills for the industry. The program helps the candidate innovate and develop business strategies specific to luxury,  necessary for progressing in the ever-changing  luxury market . The content of this program has been designed jointly by SDA  Bocconi , Italy and Luxury Connect Business School  to  suit the Indian Luxury Market.


The LBSS is a 40 hour capsule program for professionals with a minimum of 2 years experience either in the Luxury Industry or 3 year experience in the Premium segment . It is designed in such a manner that it includes an 8 hour project on ground , thus enabling the candidate to practically  use the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom session.


This program is conducted by Industry Experts- Mr. Abhay Gupta and Mr. Rajat Bhattacharyya


Need of the Hour

Luxury in India has seen a considerable growth of 20% from 4.77 billion USD in 2009 to 5.80 billion USD in 2010. Currently, it stands at 8.21 billion USD and expected to touch 15 billion USD by 2015. A survey carried out by Luxury Connect highlighted the fact that the current Indian luxury personnel lack in professional expertise to execute management or service of the International standards. India now being a major luxury hub, there is an exceptional need for trained and educated (in the subject) professionals to manage a brand in this competitive and fast-changing market.

 Mr. Abhay Gupta 

Abhay Gupta, Founder Promoter & CEO of Luxury Connect, is also the recent recipient of Luxury Retail Icon title by Asia Retail Congress. Having being featured in Forbes Luxury Trend Report 2012 as one of the Industry Leaders, he has also been recognized as luxury expert by CNBC, CNN, NDTV Profit, Business India, Economic Times to name a few. He helped not only bring but establish luxury brands like Versace, Versace Home, Versace Collection, Corneliani, John Smedley, Tween Damat ADV, Arredo Classic etc in India. He has now been mandated by a plethora of Luxury brands across fashion, lifestyle, home, interior & residences etc for their India entry strategy. He is also a regular speaker at most Luxury Forums. Fondazione Altagama has recognized his contribution to the growth of Italian luxury industry by his pioneering efforts for them in India

Mr. Rajat Bhattacharyya

Scion of an aristocratic family, he learnt international fashion from his Italian Guru, Elia Quagliola. Rajat, a legendary figure from the fashion and apparel industry has over 35 years of experience spread over Italy, EU, USA, SE Asia and India. Along with his sourcing forte, he established joint ventures in the 90's for luxury brands such as Lacoste, La Perla and Corneliani. Rajat also produced shirts at his own factory for Armani, Cerruti 1881, Cacharel, Lacoste, Boggi for over a decade. He revolutionized the apparel education industry in Bangladesh by setting up Pearl Academy, a delegated centre of Nottingham Trent University.
