Objective of the class: The Team Kanban Practitioner is a one day class teaches the basics of the Kanban Method and serves as the entry level and starting point to an “alternative path to agility.” 
 
During this 1-day class, each attendee will: 
 
- Design and implement a Team Kanban board reflecting their own situation. 
 
- Learn the basics of visualizing different work item types and risk associated with work types. 
 
- Understand what more can be done with Kanban and how to proceed to the next level. 
 
Who should attend?: 
 
  • All Development/QA managers, Developers, Testers, Infrastucture & Service Delivery Managers, Operations Staff
  • Team members in professional services organizations where their employer wishes to explore and pursue an alternative path to agility.

Learning Outcomes: 
 
Attendees should become familiar with the Kanban Method and a conceptual overview of the full "alternative path to agility". They should be able to design and implement a Kanban board in their own team context. They should be able to differentiate between a work item type and the risks they are managing which are associated with specific work items. They should be familiar with a variety of different Team Kanban board designs and styles and know how to choose a design that is best suited for their context. 
 
Pre-requisites: Course participants are encouraged to have read the book Kanban by David J. Anderson or Kanban from the Inside by Mike Burrows. 
 
Each attendee will receive: 
 
A digital copy of the book Kanban by David J. Anderson. 
 
Team Kanban Practioner Certificate of completion issued by Lean Kanban University for this certified training course (PDF format)
 
Membership in Lean Kanban University and a listing in the LKU Almumni Directory 
 
Please note that there is a class limit of 15 students. Also note that in order to make the course economically viable we need a minimum of 5 students.

Ashish Chandra (BE/MBA) is Pune’s first and India’s second Accredited Kanban Trainer with the Lean Kanban University, He is also a Certified SAFe Program Consultant,  a PMP, a Certified Scrum Master and a Certified Scrum Professional. He more than 9 years of hands-on experience in implementing agile practices such as Scrum, Kanban and SAFe.

Ashish has more than a 11 years of experience in Project Management, Process Management and Product Management delivery as well as consulting.  He has extensive training  and consulting experience across various Fortune 500 companies globally. He has published various papers at international conferences and is visiting faculty for subjects related to information technology at Symbiosis Centre for Management & HRD, Pune.

 

Being a Product Development Manager himself, Ashish aims to clarify not only the theoretical concepts behind the Kanban Method, but also to tie the concepts back to their real world applications.
