Start the expedition by joining the convoy in New Delhi. Meet at the origin, get to know your fellow overlanders and initiate your journey to Manali via Chandigarh. Halt at pre-booked venue for lunch. And carry on the ride towards Manali. Overnight stay at Manali in pre-booked hotel.
Start the day with breakfast and head towards Jispa. The drive view is breathtaking. It really has some stunning views consisting of deep green hills, several waterfalls, grazing cattle, horses and views of snow capped mountains. Halt at Keylong for lunch and resume your drive to Jispa. Reach Jispa and relax at pre-booked hotel. Enjoy your overnight leisure stay at Jispa.
Wake up early with breakfast as its going to be a long travel today. You will cross the remaining 4 high altitude passes, Baralacha La, Nakee La, Lachulung La and Tanglang La today. There are also two small but beautiful lakes on the route, Deepak Taal and Suraj Taal. Road conditions will be a mix of good, bad and ugly. Total distance covered will be about 340 kilometers in approximately 10-12 hours depending upon your speed.Overnight stay at Leh.
Day 04: Explore Leh
Spend day 4 in Leh and use this day for 3 things. First is to allow your body some time to adjust itself to high altitude. Second is to visit local places in Leh town like Leh Palace, Shanti Stoopa and Leh Market. Third is enjoying your time at your overnight stay. Experience the serene landscape of Leh Valley.
Start with breakfast and carry on the journey as there’s still long way to go. Drive towards Khardung La and move to the other side to Nubra Valley. Reach Nubra Valley and enjoy the day at leisure exploring the valley. Overnight stay at Nubra Valley.
Wake up early, its going to be long day today. Early departure for Pangong Lake (approx. 200 kms located on the Indo China Border), via Chang-la pass (alt: 17370 ft). Enjoy the lunch beside Shyok river. Reach Pangong Pso by early evening. Relax and explore the Pangong Lake. Spend the night at leisure. Overnight stay in luxurious camps with recreational activities.
Start your return journey to Leh after spending a little time at the lake and travel on the same route via Chang La to Leh. Enjoy the delicious lunch at Tangtse. Carry on the drive to Leh. Reach Leh and once again you have time to explore the remaining places at Leh. Overnight stay at Leh.
Phew!! It’s a good day. You’re driving for Kargil today. Ain’t this gives you a goosebump with aroused feeling of patriotism. Yes, you will be visiting to several places including Kargil War Memorial, Drass Sector, peaks of Kargil and many more. Overnight stay at Kargil Valley. Explore lot more in the valley.
Start the day with breakfast and drive for Srinagar. Enjoy the high rocky mountains with deep narrow gorges with a thrilling view en route Srinagar. Enjoy the lunch at Drass. Visit ‘Sonmarg’, the Meadow of Gold. Reach Srinagar and explore the city. Worried about time? Don’t worry! Srinagar has lot to offer. You have another day. Overnight stay at hotel in Srinagar.
Start the day with beautiful Shikara ride in the Dal lake. Explore the Kashmiri culture in the market. Try visiting Mughal Garden, Nishant Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, etc which has historic importance. Enjoy the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Srinagar in hotel.
Start drive early in the morning as its going to be long journey today. Its very scenic drive from Jammu- Srinagar. You will be driving through Nagrota, Patnitop, Batote, etc. you will be visiting Gulmarg today. Overnight stay at Jammu in hotel.
Its time to bid adieu. Jammu being the last stop you are on your own. Travel back home. Hope you had an adventurous journey.
