Oblum’s second workshop on Leather craft is one we have been looking forward to.
Participants will spend the first day learning about leather (properties, tanning processes, finishes) and the different kinds of leathers available for leather craft.
This will be followed by an introduction to basic pattern cutting for small leather goods
(Card Holders, Laptop Sleeve’s, Passport Holder, Camera Strap etc) and how one can make patterns using basic mathematics. They will also be providing their own signature patterns for use.
Note - They will be more than happy to help Participants that come to the workshop with ideas of their own. That being said it will be difficult for them to help you with ideas that might exceed basic skills and time. If you do have big ideas they will be happy to help post the workshop time.
Towards the end of the day participants will finalise on a pattern, self evaluate and create one for themselves to be used the next day for the making class.
-PatternCutting in Leather
Participants will start day 2 with leather selection (we will be bringing in small bits and pieces of leather in different colours) and final pattern cutting out of leather. This will be followed by a small introduction to hand sewing leather and putting together patterns for the process.
Participants will learn how to finish their products and also learn who to care for leather and leather goods.
