ABOUT THE EXPERT - Col. Tarun Kumar

Tarun has possibly one of the most unique career profiles spanning over 28 years. He spent close to 26 years as an officer in the Indian Armed Forces, preceded by two years in the hospitality industry.

Tarun started his career with the Indian Army. During his stint, he was in active combat in J&K, battling terrorists and in Siachen Glacier facing Pakistani troops and, in the process became a battle casualty during hostile operations. He has served as a UN peacekeeper, as well as been an instructor teaching leadership and strategy to officers at the prestigious National Defence Academy - Cradle of Military Leadership.

What sets him apart from others is the fact that he commenced his career as a Hotel Management graduate, switched to Sales & Marketing and moved over to join the Army, in so imbibing the best each field had to offer as part of his learning curve.

During his tenure with the Army, he applied his experience of sales & marketing coupled with soft skills of hotel industry in furtherance of his professional progression as an individual.

An MBA in HR from Symbiosis University, Tarun is adept in Financial Management and Strategic Negotiations amalgamated with Corporate Strategic Communications, he has donned many a hats. He is a product of his dreams and aspirations with a ‘Never Say Die’ approach in life. His life’s philosophy is, “lf you’re irritated by every rub, how will you ever be polished”.

Tarun is a diligent team player, learner, avid networker, always seeking opportunities for growth and development and he relishes challenges which propel him to exceed his limitations. One thing he firmly believes in is, "That you don't find will power, you create it" and that amidst of all our accomplishments, we should always find ways to give back to the society/community with a feeling of gratitude.

This is the reason that Tarun has started sharing his life's lessons through leadership exercises becoming an influencer and motivator to corporate houses, management institutions/colleges & schools.

Col. Tarun Kumar has been an ardent speaker giving leadership & motivational talk to young officer's of the Indian Army, management graduates, various professional colleges and as a corporate trainer to business establishment for training of their mid and senior level executives. He is a Certified Business & C-suite Coach imparting life skills.

Col. Tarun has been giving these talks for more than a decade and a half and has the privilege of addressing the elite & the youth through cross-cultural spectrum pan India.
