Just at 22, artist Kanika Singh is ready to take the art world by storm with her debut solo painting exhibition, Kanak, to be held on 27th, 28th and 29th April at Experimental Art Gallery, India Habitat Center. The title “Kanak” is the origin of her name, meaning gold, thus reflecting her sincerity and passion with which she turns her work into gold. In this exhibition, the artist would present 25 of her paintings including extensive portraits of rural Indian women, men, Buddha, Ganesha etc. Her paintings would cover a rich array of abstract, realistic and psychedelic, almost all rendered in her signature mix of unique combination of materials like textures, red sand, metal shavings, etc. Kanika loves travelling and the minute things in life interest her. She does not confine herself to the conventional norms and loves to explore the world around her and these find expression in all her works.
