The Monochrome Studios is an offspring of a bunch of young and aspiring individuals, driven by the sole passion for arts. Established in July 2010, the studio’s first success story was accomplished in 2011 with the completion of a documentary on the ‘cricket academy of Bharitya Vidya Bhawan, New Delhi’. Pacing ahead with much more enthusiasm, our next project in-making is a documentary film on the social activist Aditya Raj Kaul, titled ‘Being Aditya’, which is slated to release this year. From film clubs, theatre festivals to workshops for interns, all our efforts resonate the spirit of youth.
Music band performing at the event: Tarik ShillongTarik is a three-piece band and audio visual project based in India.
Tarik aims not to just play and perform but also use music as a way to convey a certain Shillong-inspired zeitgeist, a social situation that is local and in many ways universal as well.
KALPITATVA—what’s in store?
Celebrating the spirit of the KALPITATVA, which literally means ‘fragment of imagination’, the event is committed to confer wings to the imagination of aspiring young artists. Upholding this dictum, the Monochrome Studios is delighted to announce the festival of colours and music—KALPITATVA. It is a platform for budding artists, who are seeking an opportunity to showcase their talent.
The three day event will premiere in the presence of luminary guests, who shall formally announce the opening of this exhibition. Followed by this, the event will also showcase feisty performances by young musical bands, which will set the tempo for the festivity to come.
One of the motivating factors behind this event is embedded in our concern towards the social causes. As youngsters, we believe that we are much capable of contributing towards the society that we are part of. Hence we are in positive talks with various NGOs to monetarily contribute to their cause and by raising awareness about the same.
