Monsoon Flower Watching @ Kaas
Walking of about 2-3km @ Kaas and 1km at Thoseghar
Location & Information:
Kass plateau is located between 170 40'N and 730 56'E in Satara district, of Maharashtra state. It is a large plateau extending over 15.68 sq. km area at about 1218m ASL. Air temperature varies from 410- 420C in summer to 50- 60C in winter. During the monsoon, from June to September, the area faces continuous heavy rainfall (6000-7000mm annual) and fog while it is parched dry in summer. Owing to the abundance of flowering at the end of monsoon season, this plateau is described as 'Valley of Flowers' of Maharashtra.

Travel: By bus from Pune to Pune
Duration: Start at 6:30am and come back by 8:30 pm
Reporting: Near Hotel Siddhi Gardens near Mhatre Bridge at 6:30 am sharp!!

10.30 am: Reach Kaas.

02.30 pm: Leave for Thoseghar waterfall
04.00 pm: High tea
05.00 pm: Departure for Pune.
08.30 pm: Arrival in Pune.
Route: Pune - Satara Road - Satara - Thoseghar - Kaas
Distance: Approx - 125 km one way.
