Profiles of Chief Guest and Guest of Honor:

Chief Guest: Mr. Srini Koppolu, Former MD, Microsoft India Development Center (MIDC)

Srini Koppolu was MD of Microsoft India Development Center (MIDC) and was Corporate Vice President of Microsoft.

He joined Microsoft in 1989 and has been involved in many initiatives.

His contributions to Microsoft’s growth in India and global R&D are immeasurable. After spending nine years in Redmond, Srini returned to India to set up MSIDC in 1998, driven by his passion for the country and his faith in its talent. Starting with only 20 people working on two products, he grew the center over the past 12 years to over 1500 people working on 20 product groups

He was credited for setting up the Microsoft's largest development centre outside the US. Microsoft intends to continue to increase its R&D investments to successfully tap into India’s talent and market opportunities. MIDC has 1400 talented developers working on some of the next generation software and innovations.

Under his tenure, MSIDC has driven end-to-end engineering of several Microsoft products, in addition to doing shared development work for other major products. He was also instrumental in running Microsoft's little known charity secret in the country -- the India Giving Campaign.

In Aug-Sept 2010, he left Microsoft after 21 years there and turned angel investor investing in firms such as Mojostreet, a mobile gaming startup and Setu software Systems, etc.
