Harishchandragad via Nalichi Vaat

Harishchandragad is one of the best trekking destination in the Sahyadris of Maharashtra. It is a fort located in the Ahmednagar region and held a lion's share in controlling the surrounding areas. This fort has got an eye pleasing natural beauty, along with a diverse flora and fauna.

 
Various spots at Harishchandragad include: 
Saptatirtha Pushkarni - a lake east of the temple 
Kedareshwar Cave - A huge cave of Kedareshwar, in which there is a big Shiva Linga, which is completely surrounded by water. Its height from the base is five feet, and the water is waist-deep. 
Konkan Kada - This cliff faces west and looks down upon the Konkan. It provides a scenic view of the surrounding region and the setting sun. 
Taramati peak - This is the topmost point on the fort (1429 meters). Provides the view of Nanheghat, Ajoba, Kulang, Kalsubai etc. 
Temple of Harishchandreshwar - This temple is marvelous example of the fine art of carving sculptures out of stones that prevailed in ancient India

Ways to Reach: There are various ways to reach to the top with difficulty ranging from easy to difficult. We'd we going up via the tough Nalichi Vaat route and will descend from Khireshwar route

0600 hrs: Reach base village, light breakfast 
0700 hrs: Start trek via Nalichi Vaat route 
1300 hrs: Reach the top, explore around and lunch 
1900 hrs: Tent Pitching 
2000 hrs: Dinner

0700 hrs: Breakfast 
0900 hrs: Start Descending via Khireshwar route 
1230 hrs: Lunch at Khireshwar 
1400 hrs: Departure to Pune

Includes: 2 breakfast, 2 lunch, 1 dinner, travel from Pune to Pune in non-ac pvt. bus, stay in tents 
Excludes: Sleeping bags, mineral water, extra snacks, anything that is not mentioned

Guidelines 

•  Please come in proper trekking attire and trekking/sports shoes 
•  Carry extra pair of clothing, towel etc. 
•  Carry some snacks, energy bars, electral and 2L water 
•  Torch 
•  Carry personal medicines 
•  Do not participate if not well or injured 
•  Please inform us if you have any medical condition 
•  DO NOT LITTER 
•  Trek fee is non refundable 
•  One has to follow the guidelines by the trek lead at all times, failing which may result in exclusion from the event. 
•  Smoking/Drinking prohibited
