Itinerary :

Day 1: Dehradun - Sankari
You shall reach Sankri in the late afternoon or in the evening and enjoy the first view of the gigantic mountain ranges and enjoy the beautiful sunset vision. Sankri is almost 1950 metres above the sea level and gateway for your trekking journey. Dinner and overnight at guest house.

Day 2: Sankari - Taluka - Osla
After breakfast, we drive further for 12 km and reach Taluka. From there we trek towards Osla. The trek is 14km long, so be ready to sweat for the 14 km long trek. The assent is not much but the length will get you tired. You shall carry energy bars to keep your stamina up and take the challenge of the trek.

Along the way, you shall cross the Siyan Gad by bridge to reach Dhatmir village. Later you will cross the river and get a spectacular view of lush green vegetation, wild orchids, and if you are lucky may you may also have few encounter with the wild life of Himalaya like barking deer, Bore, Leopard etc. Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 3: Osla - Har ki Doon
The trail is through the beautiful meadows and hilly mountains. It may get bit steep along the way And many green fields with some rare and unique flowers will be visible in front of you which will not make you feel so tired by its pleasing ambiance. Towards the end of the trek for the day, you will be surrounded by snowy mountains. Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 4: Har ki Doon - Jaundhar Glacier - Har ki Doon
With snowy mountains in reach we will trek towards the Jaundhar Glacier. There you can enjoy the snow with your family and friends. After a while we will get back to the camp at Har ki Doon. Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 5: Har ki Doon - Osla
It is nearly 11 km far from the current position. It is not an easy task to travel so long but still the beautiful scenery and the clad full atmosphere will encourage you to keep on trekking towards the prescribed path. The path along the way in not that difficult to traverse, as by now, you all will be familiar with the type of landscape and the terrain behaves. Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 6: Osla - Sankri
It is a very long trek with some uneven climbing covering approximately 26kms to reach Sankri. Along the trek, you can also feel lucky to view one of the most beautiful sunset with some beautiful birds migrating from one place to another and the sun disappearing somewhere in the snowy mountains. Dinner and overnight at guest house.

Day 7: Sankri - Dehradun
Today you will be leaving behind the beautiful sceneries of Har ki Doon and travel back to Dehradun.

Do's and Dont's

 

Do's

 

• Things to Carry:

 

  • Backpack 40 - 60 Liters (Only carry the things required for trek)
  • Hiking/Trekking pants/trousers and shirts (Avoid using jeans and wear comfortable clothings)
  • Good ankle-length hiking shoes. Make sure your shoes are not new as they cause shoe bites easily 
  • Flash light with extra batteries (These will be required at night when you need guidance to walk along the camp site)
  • Sunglasses and Caps.
  • Hiking poles (optional) (This depends on your fitness level)
  • Sunscreen  (Get a high SPF sunscreen as sun burns are common phenomenon at high altitudes)
  • Camera (optional)
  • Water bottle
  • Warm jacket/pullover (Make sure they are water resistant)
  • Warm gloves
  • Warm socks (at least 3 pairs)
  • Raincoat
  • Prescribed medication (if any)
  • Personal Medication If Any 
  • Back Pack Cover 

 

Don'ts
• Do not consume alcohol before the start and during the trek.
• Do not litter the Himalayas during your stay there.
