Overview: Hampi, also referred to as the Group of Monuments at Hampi, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in east-central Karnataka, India. It became the centre of the Hindu Vijayanagara Empire capital in the 14th century. Chronicles left by Persian and European travellers, particularly the Portuguese, state Hampi was a prosperous, wealthy and grand city. Located in Karnataka near the modern-era city of Hosapete, Hampi's ruins are spread over 4,100 hectares (16 sq mi) and it has been described by UNESCO as an "austere, grandiose site" of more than 1,600 surviving remains of the last great Hindu kingdom in South India that includes "forts, riverside features, royal and sacred complexes, temples, shrines, pillared halls, mandapas, memorial structures, water structures and others.
Cycle ride distance around 10-12 kms covering all the monuments & hippie Island.
Itinerary:
Day 0: Overnight journey from bangalore
Day 1: Reach Hampi 6am, freshen up and have breakfast.
Take bicycles for heritage ride & have lunch at one of historic site.
Retire for the day at sunset point & back to stay, Followed by dinner bonfire & music along with camping(tented)
Day 2: Wake up early for sunrise hike after tea.
Do coracle ride along the river,
Slacklining at campsite and start journey back to bangalore.
Reach bangalore by 9pm
Activities: Guided heritage ride. Camping with bonfire. Coracle ride along the river. Sunrise hike (for some of the best sunrises), Slackline workshop at the campsite
