Welcome to GMC2017.
The Great Malnad Challenge is an annual MTB ride that passes through some of the best trails in the Western Ghats region of Karnataka. This year’s event is the 8th edition of the challenge.
The Great Malnad Challenge MTB ride is one of the best MTB trails in the Country and cyclists from across India participate here. The GMC2017 will be flagged off from HASSAN and it will culminate at MURUDESHWAR. We’ll be cycling about 650+kms in 7 days, from 28th October to 3rd November.
ICYCLE.in, the promoters of the Great Malnad Challenge series will provide all required support for the cyclists. Accommodation, support vehicle, food and refreshments through the event will be taken care by ICYCLE.in. Though basic mechanic support will be provided by the organizers, the cyclists are expected to be able to handle trivial technical issues.
Accommodation: The GMC trail passes through some of the remotest parts of Western Ghats, giving us a chance to feel closer to the raw awesomeness of Mother Nature. Due to the remoteness of some places in the GMC2017 trail, accommodation options could be limited to tents, dormitories and shared rooms. Except in a couple of places, we’ll be far removed from many luxuries.
