We are pleased to organise and invite you to 'FightVTECON 2013' – Preventing Venous Thrombo Embolism (VTE) in High-Risk Clinical Specialties on Sunday, December 1, 2013, 9 AM onwards the Leela Kempinski, Gurgaon, NCR.
A recent publication indicates that there are about 5.2 million adverse health related events in India each year! The biggest sources are mishaps from medications, hospital-acquired infections and blood clots (VTE – Venous Thrombo Embolism) that develop in legs from being immobilized in the hospital. Similarly, approximately 3 million years of healthy life are lost in India each year due to these injuries.
In the follow up to 'FightVTECON 2012' where VTE in clinical practice was addressed as a single theme conference, this year’s conference aims to consolidate and disseminate the current evidence and expertise available in relation to VTE prevention in High-Risk Clinical Settings. This vexing issue has medical safety, quality, legal, administrative and planning implications. Recognising this imperative, we are allying with clinical specialties facing VTE to create the Clinical Forum Fighting VTE (CFF-VTE). Furthermore, the conference is designed in the form of a course (The CASCADE Program) to equip the busy clinician with valuable clinical information on how to prevent and manage VTE. This is an event you cannot miss irrespective of your clinical affiliation! We look forward to your expert participation!
